Business Development Manager – Software / SaaS

Job Summary:

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving growth and expanding the company’s customer base in the software/SaaS market. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and delivering customized technology solutions that meet customer needs. The BDM will work closely with the product, and technical teams to achieve revenue targets and strengthen the company’s market position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and target potential clients across industries for the company’s software/SaaS products and solutions.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market (GTM) strategies to drive lead generation, pipeline growth, and revenue.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers (CTOs, Product Managers, etc.).
  • Conduct product demos, presentations, and negotiations to close deals.
  • Work with product and technical teams to tailor solutions based on client requirements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies.
  • Prepare and present business development reports, forecasts, and performance metrics.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, exhibitions, and networking events.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 3–6 years of experience in business development or sales in the software/SaaS industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of software solutions, cloud platforms, and SaaS business models.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to understand technical concepts and explain them to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

  • Monthly/Quarterly revenue and sales target achievement.
  • Number of qualified leads and conversion rate.
  • Client acquisition and retention rate.
  • Value and size of sales pipeline.
  • Customer satisfaction and upsell opportunities.
